Learning Your 5 x

Strategy 1: To times a number by 5, you count by 5's.

5 x 4 = 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 20 (use your fingers to prove it)

Strategy 2: To times a number by 5, times it by 10 first then find half of that number.

5 x 4 = half of 10 x 4 so... 10 x 4 = 40 and half of 40 is 20

5 x 4 = 20
